REVIEW

This was a great read! The Prologue was heartbreaking and it set the tone of the book. It helped me understand Gwen and why she is the way she is. She hasn't had a great life and has a lot of traumas, but is trying to fulfill her dreams and carry on. When she moves to a small city she meets Heather, which by the way is awesome, and her boyfriend Gabe. Gabe is best friends with Colt, our H and a swoon worthy character. He's so sexy and hot! From the first moment we meet him not only did he captivate Gwen but me also! I was so intrigued by him.

Gwen and Colt's story is not an easy one due to Gwen's past, but he's so amazing and patient. Their chemistry was off the charts and I really enjoyed their banter. This is the first book in a series and their story is just beginning, so its more physical than emotional, although Colt wants to go all in. This story does end on a cliffhanger, but to be honest is not a bad one. I don't usually enjoy CH but this one didn't really bother me.

Overall this was a sexy, hot, emotional read. I can't wait to read the next installment and see how Gwen and Colt's relationship unfolds.

Review: Monster in His Eyes by J.M. Darhower

Ignazio Vitale is not a good man.

I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I'm thinking before I even do.

It's alarming and alluring. It's dark and deadly. It's everything I've ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession.

It doesn't take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it's too late. He has secrets, secrets I can't fathom, secrets that make it so I can't walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that's both terrifying and thrilling. He's a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.

I want to hate him.

Sometimes, I do.

But it doesn't stop me from loving him, too.

 REVIEW

Wow. This book was amazing! I loved the twist near the end! This story grabbed my attention from the beginning and never let go.

I loved Naz! He's pretty scary and I wouldn't be with someone like him in real life, but still he captivated and enamored me. He's so possessive and loves profoundly. I loved that he owns who he is and doesn't care what anybody thinks.

I liked Karissa, but she was so clueless that it bothered me a little. That's why I deducted half a star.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Review Tour: The Other Brother by Meghan Quinn

I got the call. The dreaded call every child fears. My dad wasn’t well, and the man who had always been my everything needed me.

There was only one thing to do; pack up and head back to my hometown. I had finally made my dream life in the city with the great job and loving boyfriend. But was there really a choice not to go?

I found a wonderful job, a quaint house to rent, my boyfriend was working on joining me in Binghamton, and my favorite pizza place was only miles away. Life was good.

Until I met my neighbor.

It's been three years since I'd seen Aaron Walters, and my God is he all kinds of sexy gorgeous. Figures. He was supposed to be my forever, the man I grew old with, but he had different plans. How can a man who ripped my heart apart still trip me up? How can he make me still want him now more than ever?

I’m tempted, I’m drawn toward him, I’m completely and utterly unaware that I’m dating his biological brother.

Now two men own my heart. The question is, which brother will I choose?

REVIEW

This book gave me all the feels! Aaron Walters is one of my favorite male characters of all times! He was sweet, loyal, caring, loving and so sexy, I couldn't help but fall in love with him. Amelia was great too! I really liked her, and I understood some of her choices, even though I was always rooting for her and Aaron to be together so sometimes I got impatient with her.

This story is so beautiful. Its about second chances and true love. I really like second chance romances and this one is one of the best in my honest opinion. It touched me deeply, and I wish someday I can find a love as strong and pure as the love Amelia and Aaron share.

Amanda, Amelia's best friend, was amazing! I loved her instantly and I really hope Meghan writes about her someday. She's true gold and I want to know more about her  Governor Paul!

Overall this was a a beautiful love story, with its ups and downs, challenges and tears that makes it that more special. This is a book about family and friendships, lost loves that are found again and a reminder that true love always wins. Highly recommend this book to everyone! One of my best reads of 2017.

Review: Lies Jane Austen Told Me by Julie Wright

Ever since Emma read Pride and Prejudice, she's been in love with Mr. Darcy and has regarded Jane Austen as the expert on all things romantic. So naturally when Emma falls for Blake Hampton and he invites her home to meet his parents, she is positive an engagement is in her future. After all, Blake is a single man in possession of a good fortune, and thus must be in want of a wife.

But when it turns out that what Blake actually wants is more of a hook-up than a honeymoon, Emma is hurt, betrayed, and furious. She throws herself deeper into her work as CMO of Kinetics, the fastest growing gym franchise in the nation. She loves her work, and she's good at it, which is why she bristles when her boss brings in a consultant to help her spearhead the new facilities on the East Coast. Her frustration turns to shock when that consultant turns out to be Blake's younger brother, Lucas.

Emma is determined not to fall for Lucas, but as she gets to know him, she realizes that Lucas is nothing like his brother. He is kind and attentive and spends his time and money caring for the less fortunate.

What she can't understand is why Lucas continues to try to push her back into Blake's arms when he so clearly has fallen as hard for her as she has fallen for him. It isn't until Lucas reveals to Emma that he was adopted into the Hampton family that she begins to understand his loyalty to Blake as well as his devotion to the child April-she is Lucas's biological niece.

Emma opens up to Lucas about the feelings of abandonment she has harbored ever since she was a child and her mother left the family. As she helps Lucas deal with his past demons, she is able to exorcise some of her own.

Realizing that her love life is as complicated as anything Jane Austen could have dreamed up, Emma must find a way to let Blake know that it's time for him to let her go and to let Lucas know it's time for him to love her back.

REVIEW

The title of this book intrigued me from the start. I love Jane Austen so I tend to gravitate towards books that have her name on the cover or that are retellings from her books. I have to be honest and say this book was good but not great. I didn’t fully connect with Emma and I found some of the interactions between the characters to be a little childish. Sylvia, Emma’s best friend on the other hand was amazing and I loved her!

This book was clean, which I really don’t mind but I know some people like their books to have some spice.

Overall this was an entertaining read but I was expecting a little more.

EXCERPT

Why? Why does he have to magically appear in my life? Moving back to Binghamton, I thought about the possibility of maybe running into him, but I thought it unlikely, something that would never really happen.

Boy, was I wrong.

What a sick joke life is playing on me.

Aaron Walters, the boy who broke me into pieces is my neighbor.

I can’t fathom the impact I feel already.

Seeing him in hip-hugging jeans and a tight, plain shirt did a number on me. It kept me up all night as memories of what we used to have flooded my mind.

His voice.

His stature.

The way he used to kiss my neck.

The way I felt so protected in his arms.

Too bad his arms couldn’t protect me from his devastating, heart-breaking self.

And hell, he looked good. Too good.

He’s always been tall with handsome features and a chiseled jaw, but now he’s bulked up to the point that I could see his abs flexing under his shirt, the same shirt that stretched over his biceps.

But it wasn’t his muscles or handsome features that once again made my heart ache, it was those eyes. So bright, so blue, so kind, but still so sad. It reminded me of the first day I met him, of the day he stole my heart from every other man on the market.

Broken, unsure, yet yearning for love. It was all there, and like experiencing a moment of déjà vu, I was transported back into a time when I felt invisible, like I could conquer anything with him at my side.

Once again, I was wrong.

About the Author

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
